Day #48 – Selkirk, KS to Eads, CO – 70 miles / 113 km

The boys arrived to Colorado.

Elevation is 4219 feet (1288 m), while when entering Kansas, the brothers were at 837 feet (255 m). This means, Kansas is not that flat after all: they gained 3382 feet (1031 m) elevation while crossing the state.

Janos and Peter followed the same riding pattern as yesterday, they spent most of the hot and windy daytime hours in the shade, and rode when the wind calmed down, mostly in the evening, until late night, 10:30 pm. They enjoyed going 50-80% faster than during the day. They spend the night on the grassy part of a truck rest area.

States: 10   Total: 2402 miles / 3866 km

  1. Congratulations on reaching CO. Glad to see you are beating the heat during the day and riding at night. We are very proud of your accomplishments and look forward in meeting you back in CA.
